Many of us have plenty more time to spend at home right now, with not a whole lot to do. If you’ve found yourself in this position, why not teach yourself a few new skills?

Graphic design is a very complex subject, but with the help of YouTube and some of the incredible channels on there dedicated to helping you get to grips with this complicated subject, you’ll become an expert in no time!

Below, you can check out some of my favourite design-based YouTube channels to help you learn and grow your design skills:

Philip VanDusen

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCd2J-PizcFDxWHBBfRkp38Q

Philip discusses everything from design trends to brand strategy. His many years of professional experience will help you not only get an understanding of graphic design, but also insights on how the industry works as a whole.

Kel Lauren

I’ve been a fan of Kel’s for a long time! They tend to focus on videos of them redesigning logos and merchandise, giving insights into their process and style at the same time. Their bubbly personality and comedic style make learning graphic design fun and enjoyable.

Pixel & Bracket

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgllKT-His1Tbd4LUFazXUA

Pixel & Bracket regularly post videos that provide specific guidance on the various individual tools within popular design software. This is a great channel if you want to get into the nitty-gritty of tools like Photoshop, Illustrator and more.

Yes I’m a Designer

https://www.youtube.com/c/YesImaDesigner

Similar to Pixel & Bracket, Yes I’m a Designer is regularly posting tool-specific videos with the goal of highlighting some of the lesser-known features available to graphic designers. As well as that, they also have a range of videos explaining the theory of design too.

Satori Graphics

Satori Graphics is my go-to when it comes to learning about graphic design on YouTube. He discusses a broad range of subjects, including advanced processes, plugins, colour theory, tools and equipment, and much more.

Hopefully, these have given you plenty to be getting on with! If you have any other channels that you think would make a good addition to this list, please get in touch and let me know!
